Megan Shea
My love of horses has taken me on a wonderful journey over the years. The first horse that I trained from young horse to Grand Prix, K 2, qualified for the Young Rider Championship in 2015 as the third ranked combination for Team Canada. We obtained an Individual seventh place, and contributed to an eight place finish for our Team.
K2 and I began 2019 with ribbons and top scores in the CDI medium tour, and then went on to make our U25 Grand Prix, qualifying to represent Canada once more for the Wellington CDIOU25 Nation’s Cup. We achieved a third place Team, and fifth place Individual finish.
After working with a number of successful trainers through the years, among them Canadian Olympic riders Megan Lane, Belinda Trussell and David Marcus, and most recently Danish-American international rider Mikala Münter, I began an exciting chapter in my career in early 2021 by opening my own training business here in Wellington.
Since then I have had the wonderful opportunity of developing my client’s horses to a number of achievements ranging from presentation in the 4 year-old stallion licensing, preparing and presenting horses in competition, qualifying for the young horse development series finals (Prix St. Georges), and presenting horses for sale.
Operating out of a private training facility, I am able to offer my clients and their horses a training program completely tailored to their needs and goals in a safe, professional environment.
Now that you know a bit more about me, feel free to explore the many training options I have to offer!
